Bringing joy to hundreds of children in need each year.

We are mourning the loss of our friend and longtime president, Pam Yurgartis, who passed away on July 17, 2021. Her obituary may be found here.

Pam was our steadfast leader for 12 years. As president of the Potsdam Holiday Fund, Pam led our board through some lean years as well as our most successful fundraising year, last season. Even though we were unable to hold “Santa’s Workshop” and our food basket program last year because of the pandemic, Pam helped to find a way to provide warm clothing, gifts and food to over 900 people – parents, children and senior citizens who were going through a very tough time.

Throughout her years as president, she managed our program with grace, determination and optimism. Pam always had a smile and a kind word for everyone, including the hundreds of families who received much needed assistance each year as well as the many volunteers and donors who made the program possible.

We will miss her terribly, but hope that we can honor her memory by carrying on the good work that she did so well.

THANK YOU!

Because of your generosity, the Potsdam Holiday Fund, Inc. was able to help hundreds of families in need during the 2020 holiday season, an especially challenging time for those in our community who are struggling to make ends meet.

Your generous contribution, along with donations from many others, enabled the Potsdam Holiday Fund to help 475 children from 186 families that included 308 adults. In addition, 124 senior citizens received assistance through our program. Thus, a total of 907 individuals were helped this year by the Potsdam Holiday Fund.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, in 2020 we changed our program to an all-voucher format. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community, we were able to provide vouchers for gifts, warm clothing and food to these families – vouchers they were able to redeem at local businesses.

Despite the tough economic times, the true spirit of giving really came through in our community. We are hopeful that during the 2021 holiday season we’ll be able to return to our usual format and welcome back the hundreds of donors and volunteers who make the Potsdam Holiday Fund possible. Thank you so much!
